These shackles are used for attaching traces to carriages with swingle trees. They are made from stainless steel and feature quick release snaps for safe and easy removal.

This model is 10cm (4") long and suitable for use with dee end traces. There is also another model that is 13cm (5") long.

This model is now supplied complete with a leather pull tab. We can also offer replacement nylon Quick Release Pull Tabs with these shackles, which are sold separately.

While this improved model features a lock nut for added security, we recommend the following for safety and longevity of the shackle

• Use pliers to ensure the lock nut is properly engaged when fitting to the vehicle
• Regularly check all bolts are tight
• Check that the quick release shaft is properly seated each time the traces are fitted
• Regularly clean dirt and grit from the spring mechanism
• Clean and oil regularly to facilitate smooth operation
